End of Year Book Survey 2015


It's that time of year again, and I can't believe how quickly it's come around! I've had this little blog for over two years now and time has just flown by. New Year's Eve is time to reflect on the past year, and in terms of reading this survey is a great way of reminding myself of the books I've read this year.

Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
The Sudden Departure of the Frasers by Louise Candlish. Great premise, but I just didn't care about any of the characters that much.
 

Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone? The First Wife by Erica Spindler. I don't usually go for thrillers but I couldn't put this one down!

Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?
See above. I finished it at 3am.


Favourite cover of a book you read in 2015?
 

Most beautifully written book read in 2015? The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice. It's just so beautifully written and enchanting.
 

Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2015 to finally read? See above. My copy is a ten year anniversary addition and I can't believe I haven't read it before now!

Favourite new author you discovered in 2015? Eva Rice.

OTP OF THE YEAR? Kit and Ross in Kit. I cried at the end and that about says it all.

Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2015? See above. I never cry at books so this really is something special.

Favourite Book You Read in 2015 From An Author You’ve Read Previously?
Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz. Regular readers of my blog will know how much I love his books.

Best Book You Read In 2015That You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else/Peer Pressure:
Fifty Shades of Grey. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I loved it.

Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2015?
Rafe in The Silvered Heart, Ross in Kit. Please don't make me choose.

Book That Put A Smile On Your Face?
Definitely The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. So heartwarming and funny. Loved it!

  
Hidden Gem Of The Year? The Silvered Heart by Katherine Clements. It took me until the end of December to read it and now I can't stop talking about it.

Most Unique Book You Read In 2015?
The Versions of Us by Laura Barnett. Three different versions of how life might have turned out, kind of like the film Sliding Doors. Very thought-provoking.


Best 2015 debut you read?
See above. Very impressive for a debut!

Favorite review that you wrote in 2015? It's got to be Kit.

Most challenging thing about blogging or your reading life this year? Finding time to blog since I started work has been tricky, but I'm determined to keep it up!

Most Popular Post This Year On Your Blog? Not counting blog tours which always get a lot of hits, my most popular post was actually my review of the UK Tour production of Wicked. Such an amazing show that I saw it twice!

Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year? My Goodreads goal was set at 40. I managed 47 so I'm pleased with that!
